The Peaceful Woman
Spiritual Retreats for Women, by Women

What is unique about our Retreats is that they are No-Lecture.
We use the reflections of the people and places we interact with and the experiences we are having to shed light on our life and choices.
One of the other things unique about our retreats is that we "Talk Story".

‘Talk Story’ is one of the traditions and experiences of Hawaii. ‘Talk Story’ is two or more people sharing stories from their lives and it can happen anywhere - the grocery store, the street corner, the beach, at the mailbox. Talking story is sharing stories, history, ideas, and opinions. You will learn about the other person, their culture, family traditions, and about life in general. Great wisdom is shared during talk story. In Hawaii, taking time for talk story is just a normal part of life. You start out on errands and never know exactly where you’ll end up.  All the little miracles between folks is where the magic happens!

We invite you to experience a taste of what a Maui Passage is like.  You can do this by observing your thoughts, emotions, and the conversations that come up for you while you breath in the text, pictures, videos, and sounds on this page.  All things are connected. The experiences you have on this page are a greater reflection of your inner self.

Note:  'Talk Story is just that - a story.  The people and/or places in the Talk Story Video Media below are not necessarily the people or places you will be experiencing during your Maui Passage.  They are reflections that communicate how the TPW Team has experienced our Maui Passages.

Goddess Guide: Papa (Haumea), Wise Woman Earth Goddess - Release, Freedom, Sustenance
Haumea is the great Earth-Mother.  According to Hawaiian Legend, she embodies the mystical Makalei tree, abundant source of the Hawaiian food supply. The branches bear various staples such as taro, bamboo, coconut, sugarcane, and breadfruit-all pouring forth infinitely.  Haumea gives birth frm different parts of her body-Pele the volcano goddess as a flame from her mouth; Hi'iaka the healer as an egg from the extension of her right palm, shown as the supporting tree-root.  She holds the Makalei branch-shown flowering shells - which, when dipped into the ocean, attracts fish. As Nu'akea, from her breasts, milk flows as rivers-through the roots, the sacred Earth, and all of creation- with life-giving waters in a complete cycle of eternal sustenance.

To this day you can see her image in the full moon, beating the tapa. As Divine Mother, her silvery-blue form cradles the "celestial calabash", containing the "seeds of the heavens", as moon, stars, symbols and ever flowing creativity stream forth. Here they are seen feeding into significant petroglyphs that envelop the mystical night. She is called Hina'opuhalako'a, "Hina from whose womb came various forms" in the Hawaiian creation chant, the Kumulipo.
